Odoo accounting for companies operating in Peru

Odoo accounting in Peru with workflows aligned to local operations, financial control and SUNAT requirements, supported by accounting expertise.

Accounting is not configured last

In most implementations we are asked to review, the accounting module was switched on after sales, purchasing and inventory. The outcome is predictable: documents posting incorrect entries, taxes attached to the wrong base, and a first close rescued by manual adjustments.

We work the other way round: the journal entry each document must produce is defined before the cycle that issues it.

  • Which journal receives each document type.
  • Which tax applies, and on what base.
  • Which inventory, cost and FX accounts are involved.
  • Who approves, and what is traceable afterwards.

FAQ

Odoo accounting in Peru: common questions

Does Odoo include the Peruvian chart of accounts?

The Peruvian localization provides a chart based on the PCGE, but each company must review the level of detail, the inventory and cost accounts, and the clearing accounts its operation relies on. That review is part of implementation.

Can we keep accounting in Odoo and file taxes elsewhere?

Yes, and it is common during transition. The critical decision is where the statutory books come from, so the same facts are not recorded twice under different criteria.

How is foreign currency handled?

Company currency, exchange rate sources and FX difference accounts are configured. The real decision is agreeing the rate source and applying it consistently across purchasing, sales and valuation.

Can group reporting and Peruvian statutory accounting coexist?

Yes, on the same database, using analytic structure and account mapping rather than two parallel sets of books.
