Community has no licence fee and Enterprise does. That is the easy part. The real decision is which functionality you need live and who maintains the environment.

What weighs most in a Peruvian company

Accounting and reconciliation features, financial reporting, asset management and several automations are part of what distinguishes Enterprise. For a company with formal accounting, monthly closes and SUNAT obligations, those are daily work.

The cost that does not appear in the comparison

Community shifts hosting, backups, security, upgrades and the development of missing features to the company. With an in-house technical team and contained scope, it works. Without one, that work gets contracted anyway, usually for more than the licence difference.

When Community makes sense

Limited, stable scope; technical capability in-house; tolerance for maintaining the environment; or as an evaluation environment before deciding.

When Enterprise is the reasonable route

Formal accounting with demanding closes, expected growth in users or modules, a need for vendor support, and no appetite for dedicating internal resources to infrastructure.

Moving from Community to Enterprise

Possible and frequent. The difficulty is not data but developments built to replace functionality Enterprise already includes: some are dropped, some rewritten. Review it before subscribing.

Deciding without guessing

List the applications you need live within twelve months, mark which exist in each edition, add three-year total cost for both routes, and ask who answers when something fails at 7pm on the last day of the month.

FAQ

How much does Enterprise cost?

Per user and per application, at official rates that vary by country and version. They should be checked at the source when quoting.

Does Community work for Peruvian electronic invoicing?

The localization base exists, but transmission to SUNAT requires integration in both editions. What changes is how much accounting functionality must be developed around it.

Can we start on Community and switch later?

Yes, and it is reasonable with contained initial scope. Avoid developments that duplicate functionality Enterprise already provides.
