Integrating Odoo with SUNAT, banks and ecommerce in Peru
Four integrations cover most of what a Peruvian company needs from its ERP’s edges. Each one has a different failure mode, and each one is permanent maintenance.

SUNAT and electronic documents
Odoo produces the document; a transmission service sends it and manages the response. What has to be defined: document types, series per establishment, credit and debit notes, dispatch guides, and what happens when the service is unavailable. This is a named budget line, never an assumption.
Banks
Statement import, reconciliation rules and, where available, payment files. Peruvian banks differ in export formats, so confirm what your bank actually provides before the project assumes automation. The value is not the import: it is the rules that absorb recurring movements so only exceptions reach a person.
Ecommerce
Orders, stock and prices, and the decision of which system is authoritative for each. Stock synchronised in one direction and priced in the other is a common and confusing configuration. Decide the source of truth per field, in writing.
Email and documents
Supplier invoices arriving as attachments, extracted and proposed for confirmation. This is where document automation pays back fastest, because the volume is high and the rules are stable.
What every integration needs
A functional owner, not only a technical one. Logged execution that is reversible. Exceptions surfaced rather than buried. And documentation, so the company is not locked to whoever built it.
Do not automate a flow without a defined failure plan. The operation has to be able to continue manually while someone fixes it.
Frequently asked questions
Should we use n8n or Odoo’s own automation?
Odoo’s native automation when the process lives inside the ERP; an orchestrator such as n8n when the flow crosses several systems. The deciding question is who maintains it a year from now.
Can we integrate with any bank in Peru?
File-based import generally, yes. Direct connections depend on the bank. Confirm during scoping rather than after.
How much does an integration cost to maintain?
It varies, but the honest answer is that it is never zero. Each integration is a dependency on someone else’s interface changing.
