How to choose an Odoo partner or implementer in Peru
Partner, implementer and consultant are not the same thing, and the label matters less than the ability to execute. What to check before signing.

What each term means
Partner is a commercial relationship with Odoo S.A., with tiers based on subscriptions sold and certifications. Implementer is whoever executes the project. Consultant may advise without executing. A partner is not automatically a good implementer, and a good implementer may not be a partner.
What to check before signing
- Written methodology: phases, deliverables and closing criteria. If it is not in the proposal, it is not in the project.
- Accounting competence: who will configure the chart of accounts and taxes, and with what Peruvian experience.
- Localization approach: how they handle electronic documents, detracciones and statutory records.
- Migration: which data, how it is reconciled and who approves.
- Training: by role and on your data, or one generic session.
- Post go-live support: scope, response times and exclusions.
- Change management: what happens when scope moves.
Questions that reveal more than a portfolio
What would you do if migration reveals unvalued inventory? Who decides whether a requirement is met by configuration or development? What happens at the first accounting close? What documentation stays with us at the end? Concrete answers separate those who have been through a go-live from those selling a demo.
Warning signs
Quoting without discovery. Promising a fixed timeline without seeing the data. Offering "all modules" without discussing the cycle. Never mentioning accounting. Developing by default. And the costliest: leaving nothing documented, which ties the company to the vendor.
Certifications and evidence
Product certifications indicate training, not outcomes. What is verifiable: references you can call, projects of comparable scope, and sample documentation. If a vendor claims partner status, ask for current evidence — it can be checked.
Tech Jungle S.A.C. is an official Odoo partner at Ready tier, verifiable in the Odoo partner directory: a consultant certified on Odoo 18, six published references and 100% client retention. Alongside that we put methodology, Peruvian localization experience and in-ERP accounting work in writing.
Comparing two vendors
Ask both for the same detailed scope and compare modules, legal entities, data migrated, integrations, training hours, support and change handling. The cheapest proposal is almost always the one missing one of those.
FAQ
Do I need an official Odoo partner?
It is not mandatory, but it is worth verifying: the Odoo directory confirms the vendor's relationship with the maker and the team's certifications. Methodology, Peruvian localization experience and the accounting competence of the executing team matter more.
How do I verify partner status?
Odoo publishes a partner directory. If a vendor claims the status, ask for evidence and check that it is current.
Should we hire separate technical and accounting vendors?
It works if someone coordinates decisions. The risk is that accounting configuration and the operational cycle are designed separately and do not reconcile.
